MHTCET Entrance Exam
1. Eligibility Criteria
A. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Mandatory Subjects:
- For Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech): Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology and Technical Vocational Subject.
- For Pharmacy (B.Pharm): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
- For Agriculture Courses: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics.
B. Minimum Marks
- For General Category (Engineering/Pharmacy):
- Open Category: Minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry,Biology and Technical Vocational Subject.
- For Reserved Categories (Maharashtra State Candidates):
- Minimum 40% aggregate in the same subjects.
C. Nationality
-Eligible Candidates:
- Indian Nationals.
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for institutional quota seats only.
D. Age Limit
- There is no age limit for appearing in MHT-CET.
2. Exam Pattern
A. Mode of Examination
- The exam is conducted in online mode (computer-based test).
B. Structure of the Exam
- Subjects:
- PCM Group (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics): For Engineering/Technology courses.
- PCB Group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology): For Pharmacy and Agriculture courses.

- Correct Answer:
- Physics & Chemistry: +1 mark.
- Mathematics: +2 marks.
- Biology: +1 mark.
- Negative Marking: No negative marking.
E. Duration
- 180 minutes (3 hours).
F. Language of Exam
- The question paper will be available in English, Marathi, and Urdu.
3. Syllabus
The syllabus is based on the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) curriculum for Class 11 and Class 12.
- Class 11 Topics: 20% weightage.
- Class 12 Topics: 80% weightage.
4. Application Process
Step 1: Registration
- Candidates must register online on the official website ([cetcell.mahacet.org] (https://cetcell.mahacet.org)).
Step 2: Fill Application Form
- Provide personal details, academic details, and preferred group (PCM/PCB).
Step 3: Upload Documents
- Passport-sized photograph.
- Signature.
- Class 10 and Class 12 certificates.
- Domicile certificate (if applicable for Maharashtra candidates).
- Category certificate (if applicable).
Step 4: Application Fee Payment
- General Candidates: ₹800 (approx.).
- Reserved Categories (Maharashtra State): ₹600 (approx.).
5. Reservation Criteria
For Maharashtra State candidates, the reservation applies as follows:
- SC: 13%
- ST: 7%
- OBC: 19%
- EWS: 10%
- PwD: 5%
- Others: As per Maharashtra state government rules.
